Restoration charges range from $300 to $500; leadtime is 8 to 12 weeks. Rush service is not available for this binding.
RESTORATION INCLUDES:
- Rebinding and repairing damaged or worn material;
- Adding new leather to board edges and corners where needed;
- Making a new leather spine with gold stamping, or preserving the original spine leather;
- Substantial page mending;
- Over-sewing first and last signatures;
- Adding new ribbon;
- Rebuilding or making new headbands;
- Treating and clear-coating decayed leather;
- Cleaning and treating the leather with preservatives;
- Removing, repairing and polishing metal hardware.
